Hi. I just stumbled on this comm, so I thought I'd give a quick "hello". I finished reading Lies a few weeks ago and loved it. It's very refreshing to find a fantasy novel that doesn't fall into the "farmboy is the chosen one and grows up to be God-King, batting aside opponents whose politics the author disagrees". I loved the street-level adventures and the fact that the characters used their brains to deal with problems. Definitely looking forward to Lynch's next book

Locke Lamora

hello! You really have to read the next one-'Red Seas under Red Skies' if you loved 'Lies..'. Great sequel as it continues with more of Scott Lynch's brilliant writing style and wit, with the addition of pirates. Warning of really sad bit in it though but maybe that's just because I'm a girl!

Re: Locke Lamora

I'm right in the middle of Red Seas and I'm loving it! I thought the sudden appearance of the pirate scheme halfway through was an odd turn, but I'm willing to trust Mr. Lynch enough to see where he takes this. I'll never go to sea without cats again!

Re: Locke Lamora

Typical Locke to not bother with the felines. Delighted to learn that Scott Lynch has planned seven books in total for this series and the next one is about Sabetha. Can't wait!
